Philip Becker joined Fruitman Kates in 2000 after spending eight years in a senior management position as a forensic accountant for the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. Prior to immigrating to Canada from South Africa in 1992, Philip was CEO of an engineering company which was a subsidiary of a listed company. Philip served on the board of directors of the listed company for 5 years.
Philip graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree. In 1976, he obtained his CA designation in South Africa and was accepted into the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1994.
Over the past 40+ years in public practice, the public sector and industry, Philip has demonstrated astute business, accounting and tax expertise and has been recognized for his dedication to client service.
Philip’s clients include real estate, manufacturing, wholesale, hospitality, retail, professionals and not-for-profit organizations. Philip has also provided his clients with assistance in securing finance by developing business plans, projections and in negotiations of purchase and sale of businesses.
When not working, Philip is a sports fanatic and is an avid (if somewhat bad) golfer.
