Michael Barry

Michael Barry joined Fruitman Kates in August 2016 as a Senior Manager in the audit & assurance group. He has over 20 years of public accounting experience providing complex assurance, financial reporting, tax and estate planning solutions to high net worth individuals, as well as owner-managed, private equity-funded and small public companies and their stakeholders.

As a member of the firm’s assurance team, Michael has extensive experience reporting under Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as well as Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO) and industry guidance under the Real Property Association of Canada (REALPAC). Michael specializes in providing services to clients in the real estate & construction, manufacturing & processing, information technology (including fintech & e-commerce), wholesale & retail, hospitality & long-term care industries, as well as with charities and not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to joining Fruitman Kates, Michael held management roles in several small, mid-size and national firms.
